Documents stored and retrieved from CD

With the mass distribution and use of the CD Rom in all types of industry and departments, document storage and retrieval has never been so efficient. Users can now access their archived and live documents from their own desktop computer by simply querying a CD Rom.

Between 10,000 and 20,000 of your documents can be stored on a single CD Rom, this value depends on the document type and quality.

DataSave always provide our customers with a master CD Rom and a working copy. This is the procedure to enforce a disaster recovery strategy for all our customers allowing a copy of the documentation to be stored in a fire safe box or at an off site location.

There are two main ways or structuring the CD's for end user retrieval:

  • Directory structure
  • : Where the folders on the CD mimic your current filing system, say lever arch files.

  • Database Index
  • : Where documents are retrieved by your specified search fields. For example, by purchase invoice number.
